Personally, I only use My Space to network my music and listen to/discover other peoples' (I added Barracks of Afghanistan purerly becuase I liked his music, ultra-lame me...) I don't begrudge anyone that uses it to stay in touch with old friends or whatever though. Actually, believe it or not, there's plenty of room on the internet for everybody.

That's funny. I got in major trouble when I was the Music Director at KAOS in Olympia just for charting Anal Cunt in CMJ. Mind, I was just reporting what had been played most, but the station manager was certain we had made the name up just to be dicks.

Well, I kind of do think My Space is lame, but so what? The radio is kind of lame too, but most musicians still want to get played on it. My Space has all kinds of annoying things about it, but as you say it's free. And there's lots of great music on it because of that. Anyone who chooses specifically not to use it for music, is seriously missing out. It's a lot easier to find groups you like in a selective environment like the internet than to wade through traditional media force feeding.
