I haven't talked to anyone from the band in a couple years. They've all gotten so reclusive. Vern was playing bass in Fitz of Depression for a while but he's not listed on the band's My Space and it looks like Ryan is back instead. I heard about four months ago that Justin had moved back to Oly from L.A. and Brandt too apparently. Sarah's in Portland and I saw her playing drums for Tara Jane O' Neal about a year ago at the Hallaluwah festival opening for Damo Sazuki. She may be the only one really playing out much at this point. I never really got to know her though, despite the fact that she's the one in Portland. The general vibe I get from them is that an Unwound reunion is unlikely at any time soon, but you never know. Brandt could be the peacemaker I suppose. Knowing those guys, if they did get back together it would be the original three and they'd call themselves Giant Henry again to avoid publicity. |

guns n roses are as great as acdc are as great as aerosmith are as great as motorhead are as great as iron maiden are as great as whatever.
not sure why i said that, but those are all great bands who lots of indie people feel they are above, fuck that. who mentioned wolf eyes-human animal? i love that record, definitley one in my top 5 wolf eyes, and definitley one the best thing sub pop has put out in forever. i guess the first comets on fire record was decent, and mudhoney's 'since weve become transluscent' is actually my second fave mudhoney album. im in full on ramble mode, watch out.

Eh, I've got nothing against Matador. Not my favorite label, but there are some good bands on their roster. I really couldn't care less what label SY is on, I'm more interested in the music they're gonna make.

Matador has always been one of my favorite labels. Their compilations Everything Is Nice and Matador at 15 were really great, and turned me on to quite a few cool artists from their roster.
