Hey, maybe you really are that fabulous, and as for SC, all of us over 30's could probably do with toning up a little. (Apologies to Savage Clone if you're not over 30) |

Oh, well, that's not so bad... Two more years, and he can retire and get full Social Security benefits!

I can't wait for my senior discount at the movies... Too bad the record store doesn't have one.

I am definitely over 30.
I'm turning 36 in 2 days. And I could use some toning up in the midsection, but my arms and legs are in fan-freaking-tastic shape. I ride a bicycle as my main mode of transport, which helps a lot. |

only idiots and self-absorbed fuckheads treat the old like they are stupid or harmless.
I feel if you have survived the myriad of things that this life can throw at you unti, your old age you deserve a free ride from then on. Picasso was 90 years old and still making great art, anthony quinn was 91 years old and had a son. age is just a number. you are as old as you feel. that is the honest truth. I am 32, about to be 33 in a few weeks, and I can honestly say I am looking forward to being old. I want to live forever, or at least long enough to have my consciousn4ess uploaded onto a self-regulating and self-repairing android body, so I can travel to the stars, or live under the ocean for a few decades.

Having a kid at 91 is pretty irresponsible if you ask me.
I think Charlie Chaplin had one at 90. |

I've cut out potatoes and other starches and cut way back on red meat. I try to walk as much as possible, bike when it's not hot, and swim. I've only put on about 1 pound a year over the past 10 years. But I'd still like to get back to what I was in my 20s. I suppose all the stout and brown ale doesn't help.

what's irresponsible about it? Quin has a large extended family, and had a wife of only 40 years old who will be able to take care of the child. Lucky him.
and he had enough mooolah to pay for the child's rearing. he may never know his father but big deal. that is not what matters in life. speaking as someone who never can have children, I say have em when you can whenevr you can and want to.

I'm vegan, but still...
I love starchy food. I've given up eating a lot of things (I miss neither meat nor dairy at all), but the bread, rice and pasta are just so damn good. |

Well, yeah, but too much isn't. I don't think even the leanest is as lean as chicken and fish. I dunno. My doc just says to watch the red meat intake, not cut it out entirely.

Having a kid when you know for certain you are not long for this world is irresponsible. Certainly as irresponsible as it would be for someone like me, who absolutely abhors the mere thought of having children, to have them. I don't see what "pride" there is to be had from deliberately procreating when you are that old. Just seems like a way to say "Look, everybody! I'm still a man!" I refuse to honor that. |

yeah, it's just the same as having a kid and then running off, never to return.
