This is tough one... but I vote for Daydream Nation. It is the album that introduced me whole new world in music, there won't be album that could beat it.

Sister. Bought it early in 1988, thought "what the fuck is this", didn't listen to it for another 6 months, then fell in love with it.

Daydream Nation holds the candle for me.
It really broke the mould for me when I was 14 in 1998 and my first boyfriend (of an intense and charged relationship) got it for me. With that, I was also picking up things like Skinny Puppy's "mind: the perpetual intercourse" and everything nin, nirvana, hole, and marilyn manson. It was a great time. |

It took me about 5 years to fully appreciate the album.

The record that changed more preconceived notions of music and what an album should be: Daydream Nation. The balance of T/L/K songs, the production qualities, the length of the songs, the order the songs were placed on the record. There's a reason SY went on tour to play it live; this is a perfect album from start to finish, not to mention the goose bumps you get when Providence ends and Candle begins. F'ing masterpiece.
That said, you could leave me on a life raft with any SY record and I'd die a happy man.

Should have said "went on tour to play it live (AGAIN 20 years later)..."

Daydream all around is better but it's hard to compare since they are extremely different records.
I thought there might be a swerve and Daydream Nation wouldn't win, but obviously that won't be the case. ~Jeremy~
