When I'm down for no reason, tired really, then The Velvet Underground's S/T, a Minnie Riperton best of, Cat Power 'Moon Pix', maybe Sonic Youth's NYCGAF. Anything which is jazzy, nocturnal or subtly beautiful.
I like the Fuck Button's Street Hoorsing too: it puts me in a trance so that I forget everything, then, from there, makes me happy when Bright Tomorrow kicks in. Though I have to be careful because when I'm genuinely down, a manic episode, I don't think music can do anything; in fact, it annoys me for being so inadequate, I feel like I've found it out, and want to sell my collection that minute. |
