Though what you said is exactly what I said to my ex-girlfriend, symbol man, who has supposedly applied at 13 places in Florida but no one will call her back. Speaking as someone who has always tried to do things the easy way, trying to not have much responsibility and all, I'm going to go ahead and say dancing is probably not too demanding of a job, and you probably wouldn't have to do it very often, and you'd make tons of money doing it. I wouldn't get too far into it, obviously, but the costs versus what you're doing actually makes it seem pretty enticing.

I dunno. I think everyone sells out a little bit, and nearly every job makes you lose a part of yourself and your soul. The government is going to break you, or the job market will, or some guys drooling over you in a g-string.. something's going to break you at some point, that's the world we live in. Still, it's better just to get it out of the way, and make shit tons of money so you can be comfortable in the future, in my opinion.

Symbol man does have a good point: Beggers can't be choosers. I tell the old lady, "Go work in a factory!" "NO, I'LL GET DIRTY!" she says. I'm just like.. jesus. If I was that hard-up for money, I'd do anything. But I'm not hard-up for money, because I work at some shit job doing bullshit for years. Have I wasted my life there? Yep. Do I have something to show for it? Yes. Was it worth it? I dunno. I could debate this all day. Working is a part of life, and life sucks, so work sucks of course. And I've also noticed that the more I get, the less I want. I have given away/sold just about everything I own in the past year. This paragraph has nothing to do with anything in this thread, just lamenting the loss of innocence.

I live about 50 miles from an art school and there is nude modeling all the time, I'm seriously thinking of doing it. I look sexy as hell naked. ...or maybe not. There are colleges that pay you $50-100 for a few hours of modeling, to a very small and quiet group of artists who aren't even allowed to talk to you. Maybe that's a good way to go? It wouldn't be as soul-sucking as dancing, BUT if you get comfortable doing this, you'd definitely be comfortable doing that. But don't go beyond THAT (you know, into porn or something).

sometimes I'm like that, definately. But I've been trying to fucking hard to just stay committed to staying upbeat about it, it's hard when I just get told 'so just apply for more.' Not because that's the wrong thing to have said to me... just because I KNOW that.. and it fucking makes me so mad that this is still going on. It just gets more depressing by the week. I seriously sat and cried most of yesterday. Probably, Im too used to the 'right' thing or job just coming around when I've needed it, and that is why the past year has been so fucking difficult.

My wife thinks she'll move in with her boyfriend's ex-girlfriend now, and use the money she'll get on her grad school financial aid to pay for rent, bill, food, drink, and cigarettes. She can't divorce me because she needs my health care to survive. She can't not divorce me though because she needs to be thinking about child support and so on. She still sleeps next to me and cuddles like a desperate little girl. And fuck it all, I still want to comfort her and make it alright even though it's her own fucking mess that she's foisted on me, and not the other way around.

My x-old lady has to pay $600 a month for various bills, plus she's thinking of getting an apartment (which, down there, will run her $800 for a shithole), not counting groceries, not counting gas, and not counting any insurance type shit (she has none). She is also THOUSANDS of dollars in debt from school. She has ran up 2 credit cards. She still insists that what she's doing is "the right thing" and she'll be able to pay it all back one day. Note that her parents have both filed bankruptcy twice in their lifetimes. It really fucking bothers me, as I grew up with NOTHING, have had to work for everything I have, and then she belittles ME -- she says "oh, you just work at Wal-Mart, that's just a job, not a career, I'm going to school [for something she's not even interested in] to get a CAREER!" I make $11.25 an hour stocking frozen TV dinners. Yeah, it does suck, and I fucking hate Wal-Mart, but you know, there's job security here. That's the last place that will lay off people. I am not doing things the "right" and "proper" way so it's "Wrong"... she certainly has no qualms about taking my "wrong" money, though!

God damn, I just want her to fail so bad, I need to stop fucking letting her do this garbage and start to develop some common sense but ... if she told me she'd be happy if I cut off my dick, I'd probably do it, reluctantly. I LOVE that bitch.

I think what you do in your spare time is generally more important than what you do for a living. With the exception of people that have their dream jobs. IMHO even if I had my dream job, there are still 4 or 5 other dream jobs I'd also like to have time for out of work hours, so I could never work anything that takes up my entire life.
