John Mayer is a fucking awesome guitarist. I'd say potentially one of the best in the world, with time. Neon has one of the best acoustic riffs ever written.

Good acoustic recommendations; many of them I've heard, excepting SC's, because he's weird 'n that (though he did turn me on to some Paul Metzger).

Johnny Cash as well. The good stuff is very, very good, but there's about 2 and a half albums of good stuff up until American man 2 (because the first one's shit).

Well, in Cohen's case it's usually the backup singers that make me want to harm myself or others. In the case of Dylan or Waits, it's the lead voice that makes me want to shove icepicks in my ears (sterilized first of course; I am no barbarian).
