Im not saying that they are not as developed as meat eaters. Vegetarianism is a somewhat new phenomenom. Most people still do eat meat. I was merely saying that without consuming meat, our species wouldnt have been able to evolve as highly as they are now. I'm talking development over many thousands of years and sustained for hundreds of thousands more. It's not like vegetarians are dumb or anything. Just form an evolutionary aspect, meat was highly important in helping us evolve. That's all. No reason to take offense, Im simply stating a fact.

it's called protein and vitamin B12 (which is a very essential nutrient and only found in animal products).
On in interesting note, it turns out the inuit diet (which is nothing BUT meat) turns out to be the best anti cancer diet in the world.

I also forgot to mention that hunting FOR meat was what helped mankind to create weapons, which led to the development of technology.

If everybody was vegetarian, there'd be no fighting. Nobody would have the energy.
Weak veggie joke, I know (true though). |

I believe the idea runs that consumption of meat, initially from scavenging and later from hunting, provided a diet far higher in protein to our very ancient ancestors which in turn facilitated brain development which in turn... Not that vegetarians are dumb, or that there arn't alternative sources of protein available now, just that meat provided a boost at a critical period. They think. Suppose we don't really NEED to eat meat anymore, but that aint stopping me. |

meat gives whole proteins and enzymes that allow for the breakup and use of various minerals found in meat, trace element minerals wityhout which the brain develops problems. read about it. long term studies of vegetarians have shown that they lack certain enzymes that allow for the brain to keep itself solid and fatty.

It's funny how meat eaters always feel compelled to justify their eating habits.

I find that veg-heads are the ones NON-STOP trying to justify their eating habits, to everyone, at all times, in all forums.

what do you mean in what way? In EVERY WAY, constantly explaining why they are veg-heads, why they cannot eat this or will not eat that, why they feel it is wrong, why their morals prevent them, it is a constant barrage!

I feel your eating choices, like your religion, should be kept personal, as it neither affects nor matters to anyone else.

oy, preachy vegetarians... i love to eat vegetables, but fuck if my body is going to subsist by just eating plants. what the fuck is wrong with you? does your moral self-righteousness so obsess you that you ignore the demands of your body? if you want to shrink your gonads with soy estrogens, please go ahead. my ancestors evolved by eating everything they could find. they didn't act like rich fucking spoiled wankers by turning down a good meal, they didn't have "eating disorders" and they certainly didn't preach fucked up ideas--they followed their appetites and the wisdom of their bodies. hence they multiplied, survived, and here i am. now i plan to continue this tradition. i figured those people didn't fight for nothing, so i'm not going to throw away their efforts. if you want to self-destruct with convoluted eating schemes, please, go ahead with your ascetic lifestyles, and get high on your perceived moral superiority--but stay the fuck away from our kitchens and tables. really, shut the fuck up already with the sermons. just to piss you off, i'm going to have a big juicy steak today, and while i eat it i'm going to think of you shoving soybeans down your throat, and i'll have a good laugh. fucking wankers.
(this should have gone in the rant thread porkie started but-- eh!-- the whole board is fit for ranting). |
