lets rename this thread the best albums ever......
rock is such a broad open bracketed sort of thing... minutemen, hendrix, the fall, wire, the ex, loop, not exactly "rawk" in the spinal tap sense now is it? |

I tells ya, if demonrail were here and saw my selection, he'd have such a fit - mainly for not including the New York Dolls or Avril "I Am More Rock Than You" Lavigne.

So good. I searched for that one for years and years and then one day this past fall I happen to walk into the store and there it is in the new arrivals part of the used LPs bin. And for only 6 bucks! A practically perfect copy too!
They sure looked nerdy on stage, though, didn't they.

I think the Feelies' ultra nerdiness is certainly part of their charm. I'd certainly would have hung out with them rather than Minor Threat, that's for sure.

Definitely. They're much more fun.
& the 80s feelies only look nerdy in retrospect. Back in the day they seemed, at least to me, more college-preppy than anything. Like early Talking Heads.

I'm thinking of so much more that should belong in my top 30 or so albums. Fugazi's Repeater, Nirvana's Bleach, some Dinosaur LPs, Meat Puppets, Dylan. It all deserves to be up there.

Looking at other's lists, I'm going to repeat a lot of territory
1. Sonic Youth - Bad Moon Rising (not what I think is the ultimate rock statement, but it is my favorite album period, and it is a rock album) 2. Velvet Underground - White Light/White Heat 3. Rolling Stones - Let It Bleed 4. Stooges - Raw Power 5. Wipers - Youth of America 6. Hawkwind - Space Ritual 7. MC5 - Kick Out the Jams (which gets a Sun Ra song on my rock list!) 8. Husker Du - Zen Arcade 9. Sex Pistols - Never Mind the Bollocks 10. Motorhead - Ace of Spades |

I found an urge overkill album on vinyl at salvation army for 3 bucks in good condition. Don't remember what it's called but it has the 3 of them on the cover. It sucks bad. I have heard some songs by them before that are good though.
