I'm not much of an MBV fan, but I've never understood why Loveless is "better" than Isn't Anything.

The irony of it is that is that some of the albums voted have an inherent quality of making you look out for other stuff, yet the overall feel is that of a crippled taste in music in who voted for them.

I think it's also because when you start to move past the "hub" bands, there's too much diversity to get many votes per band. Even if everyone picked a few obscure bands, it's less likely that any two people picked the same ones.
