Shameless. I wish more people could admit actually liking things that are good, rather than liking things that involve guitars and whining.

I have no shame..I went to an MCR gig and enjoyed it!
I also count Viva Forever in my top 10 favourite songs... Feel the full force of my uncoolness!

Trust me Cardiff is. So much of the Emo/Post-Hardcore/Shite whatever you wanna call it coming out of the UK is from Cardiff or the surrounding south wales valleys. Our Scene is thriving....which is terrible because you can't get away from it. Its particularly annoying when trying to start bands. Getting people who are on my page so to speak is near impossible. If you dont like Metal, Post-Hardcore or watered down NME sponsored tripe you are pretty much screwed. I think the musicians that know me think i'm insane. Im just from a whole different world.
Yes I enjoy the odd bit of MCR (although the last album was overblown, pompous garbage)....world do you're worst

Sydney is pretty bad, but no where near that extreme. The city is packed with emo's, and for some reason, they hang out on town hall steps. I went to some concert which I got free tickets for (Mosh pit ones) 4/5 of the bands there were emo bands and the same percent of the crowd was emo. Horrible stuff, but got the crowd jumping.

There is loads of good music coming out of Cardiff too I suppose but its difficult to find and enter into any discourse with these type of people. www.myspace.com/trawsfynyddliberationfront
This guy is good. Its welsh language stuff. He's opening for Wolf Eyes on the 19th in Cardiff yah!

This whole 'emo' thing is really just a non-issue. Its a fad that will move along shortly. Everyone knows Emo is already over anyway. Granted its been slightly annoying but like any scene it produced a few good bands and the rest of them just fade away and are forgotten. When I was younger I was always a bit more hostile to it. Now I just think they can do what they want and we'll do what we want. And if nobody is listening so be it.

Yes! I looked at this list of 90's clothes, and everything i'm wearing now is on that list.
Plaid flannel t shirt, unbuttoned over a concert t shirt (nirvana) Baggy jeans Chain with a peace symbol Fringe And my shoes are nikes, but I am not wearing them. |

I have this whole new idea for wher fashion should go. Its a kinda mix between 60's fashion (particularly woman's 60's fashion) and that whole 90's GenX thing.
Im sure its gonna be my band that changes everything again.... One can dream i suppose

Certainly not a 90's kid at all. As for 90's fashions, er, blimey, don't think my taste in clothes changed at all during that decade. Black jeans, DMs, biker jacket, greasy long hair, bad shirts. What a catch, eh?

i'm born in 1989, but spent the whole nineties dreaming and not caring about clothes, tv or fads.. i still don't really care actually.
and about the whole 'emo' thing: you see them everywhere in antwerp now. when the first emo-jokes came, there were hardly any emos here. i guess we're just slower. me and my friends make it a sport to count them when we go to the city. a bit like 'spot the yellow cars'. |
