I really can't stand the theatre/plays/musicals....my little sister is in a bunch of them (God love her) and I always hate having to go and watch all these bastards smile and sing about stupid shit.

I picked "theatre" because that's what we call the "cinema" here. I didn't read the question before I voted, and though it was a soda-vs.-pop type thing. Screw you all.

on average i would see 250 live performances each year, which is an awesome privilege, theatre audiences can be tossers like any other audiences but the perfomers mostly aren't neither are the crews, directors except for a few, it is just like any other industry including the dirty rock pub industry, there are wankers everywhere, and that is nothing to do with the artforms of discussion, just with the people in the world. we identify with each other through means of communication about artforms, as we do on this board, it opens dialogue some good some bad.
