you know, if we all didn't pick nearly the same lists, there would be a bunch of bad ass sonic mix tapes here, but alas, instead there is really just ONE!

I would personally recommend going to painstaking lengths to procure every Sonic Youth release on vinyl and frisbee the CD-R's into the garbage

from Sonic Youth EP, I'm counting as a studio album becuz it's too fucking great:
I Dreamed I Dream. The atmosphere turns me on, the lyrics express my overall mood, I go through a trance. This is my favorite Sonic record. from Confusion is Sex: Kill Yr. Idols. Fucked up and Sonic manifesto. from Bad Moon Rising: Death Valley 69'. This is the best Lydia Lunch collabo, the video is excelent, the lyrics is all there is to say about the massacre. from Evol: I can't pick just one, but it is Shadow of a Doubt. Kim's sighs . from Sister: Schizophrenia. All about. from Daydream Nation. Teenage Riot. It's the first Sonic song I ever heard. from Goo: Mote. Did you know "Mote" is a synonym for Coke where I live? It's also a kind of sticky oat grain. I like the video. from Dirty: 100%. Party starts. from Experimental Jet Set, Trash and No Star: Bull in The Heather. Kim. from Washing Machine: The Diamond Sea. It never ends. from A Thousand Leaves: Sunday. I listen to it every sunday. from NYC Ghosts & Flowers: NYC Ghost & Flowers. Selftitled. from Murray Street: Karen Revisited. I know many Karens, I am one too. from Sonic Nurse: Stones. from Rather Ripped: Lights Out. I like Thurston's lower key in this one. The noise to melody transition is evident, Sonic Youth has softened. |

I always forget about Lights Out. I think it's a great song, one of the bests on Rather Ripped.
