wicked.
When you use the pedal, does your amp have the same tone without the pedal? Like, the reverb pedal doesnt lessen the tone of your amp does it? |

i didn't notice any change,i think the tone was the same, but if it did the tone knob on the pedal could make up for it easily(it was on full during the recording, all 3 knobs were)
also i was playing through the shittiest amp possible into a computer mic, so it will sound much better in real life with a decent amp |

Word son, thanks.
But by tone I meant like the amp quality. Not the setting of treble, bass, mid etc. |

why the shotgun? and the shot is only about $1400us. i never have much use for them in live work are you doing some films etc? I can understand the 414 i prefer the old model pre digital switching of polar pattern and roll off etc. they are beautiful on pianos if you have enough room between the piano and the pa, they are also wonderful overheads. great on choirs, acoustic guits, violins etc. |

the 414 for studio voiceovers this is a kinda dream wish list though. i have to settle for various audio-technicas and a sony until i get some real money. which is slated for a new macbook pro come the next revision. |

Sounds like you've got a bad big muff or something's wrong with your amp or your cables. I have a 70s bassman and a 60s Kent, and my Big Muff makes sounds amazing through them (although the Kent is so dark I have to crank the tone.) |

Catalinbread SFT (Ampeg in a Box)
EHX Microsynth (for those awesome synth sweeps it does): EHX Soul Preacher compressor (to give my guitar a longer sustain when I'm going for more keyboard like sounds) The Beast Synth: (well this was a DIY one-off, but I want to build a similar one someday.) I love that it has the metal slide trautonium type interface for playing instead of a keyboard, making almost like a "fretless" synth and allows for manual vibrato and glissando |

for voice overs in studio i would probably go for a neumann u87 rather than a 414b. they are around the same price. also have a look at the neumann tlm103 which is also a large diaphragm condenser. or cheaper but quiet, transparent and good quality sound the rode nt series, they are much cheaper but are great sounding microphones. rode also do a decent shotgun. but nowhere near the mkh60 or the me66 shots. http://www.neumann.com/?lang=en&id=c..._descriptio n http://www.neumann.com/?lang=en&id=c..._descrip tion http://aus.rodemic.com/microphone.php?product=NT2000 http://aus.rodemic.com/microphone.php?product=NTG-1 http://aus.rodemic.com/microphone.php?product=NTG-2 http://aus.rodemic.com/microphone.php?product=NTG-3 |

No no, my problem is with the Holy Grail pedal. I don't use a Big Muff. I thought that too but it does it on different amps, and with different cables. I returned the first one I bought and got another one, after a few months, same problem. I looked and other ppl have had the same problem in online forums, and now I went to guitar center and it says the model is discontinued (it was the first holy grail). |
