The only celebrities I hve heard namedrop sonic youth as being great are

Liv Tyler
Portia DeRossi

Now if I could get a twisted rob instigator sandwhich going there, and I know portia is gay but hey, the love of sonic youth will connect us all through my "silver rocket"

Erm...Boom bip?As much as i enjoy his music i wouldnt exactly call him a celebrity.Unless you count the fact that his music was on a tv advert.But so is Jackson and his Computer Band's.

hey man, I say, if Fred Durst really does like sonic youth, if he is not paying lip service to sonic youth, then more power to him. his bands suck. but what can you do about that but not listen? maybe he will be cleansed in the baptismal sounds of sonic skronk, and be born anew, living the sonic life and avoiding the pitfalls of his past sonic bufoonery. we all were at one time or another.

I thought i remember hearing Keanu Reeves being a fan in the early 90's...
this was when he was in a band trying to play bass (btw, the bass kim plays in the 100% video is Keanu's)

Portia DeRossi is with Ellen DeGeneres...

yeah, keanu reeves is quoted in one of the sonic death fanzines as saying he really likes sonic youth. i think he was actually originally supposed to be in the dirty boots video.

i heard sadam hussein used to torture his enemies making them listen to silver sessions. i think only a fan would do that.
