Soul On Ice - Eldridge Cleaver
Former Black Panther rants on about the glory days of the movement, with plenty of kill whitey rhetoric. Great for those guilt trip moments!

Yay!
You will enjoy Drugs Are Nice, I promise. The UK cover art is much better than the US version too. It looks happier. |

no nigella? my heart is broken
--- btw pookie i checked that book in the u.s. and the picture is a lot less fun here-- they make her look like some dowdy housewife. notice: nigella - feast from amazon UK: sex in the kitchen, sexy hands: same book from amazon U.S.A.: fake prim smiles, cold utensils. moreover, she's using a metal fork inside a non-stick pan. we're being shortchanged!!! bwaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh!!!! |

It amazes me how many of Nigella's books haven't got her picture on the cover. I'll add Feast to the list. I thought you were joking to be honest; it's a very good cookery book, not just a good cover incidentally. |

I'd just like to mention to all the contestants in this game that I live fairly close to Pookie's literary emporium, and, given the right incentive, I could easily arrange for the sales figures to be, ahem, "influenced".

Damn, I lost all my chances with my review... But seriously, "Zazie in the Metro" deserves a spot amidst (?) all the others.

Im probably too late, but for next time:
attention grabber guarenteed to make people want to buy buy buy:
Life... it falls together, it falls apart.
I dont know if Alligator is in print, in the UK but im recommending it anways. Its one of my recent favorite books and was quite well recieved in Canada and nominated for many awards, but almost completely ignored in America.
She writes in a slighty cut-up manner which annoys some people, but I enjoyed it quite a bit. |
