the dynamo do belong to San Jose. They moved here for money. It happens.
(look at the Oilers/Titans) I will go see a match before this season is up. I am excited to see them play. Our best player is not in though, as he is on the USA team.

Brian Ching or Ricardo Clark? They're both back (Brian Ching has been back since the end of the Gold Cup) after the debacle in Venezuela, though Ricardo Clark had a nice Copa America.

I thought they would be gone for a while more. excelent.
They really do have a large fan base here. They came here with no nnouncements, no hyope, no m,arketing done beforehand and they were selling out 20 thousand at the University stadium. everyone decked in orange.

Two big SuperLiga games coming up, Club America playing the Dynamo in Houston, one wonders who will have the real home support.

i think he'll probably have more of a hollywod star appeal than sports star appeal. i think him alreayd being friends with tom cruise really makes him attractive to the media eye.
but when dealing with the question on whether he can have a substantial impact on soccer in America is hard to say. i think the MLS is having record ticket sales, like anywhere Galaxy will go the game will be sold out for atleast the first and second season. i know that his first actual MLS game in toronto quickly sold out. Also, sales for Beckhom Galaxy jerseys are already over a quater million. in conclusion, for the first two seasons the popularity of soccer will increase but after a while it will fall to what it is now. just like when Pele played in America. American ESPN is not excepting of soccer, i think they purposely bring it down and don't cover it. but what do you expect from a station that has a cream dream whenever there's a yankees and red sox game. ESPN will hardly promote soccer just like they hardly promote hockey. most American sports shows put down hockey and simply do not give a shit. Beckham and posh spice will always be in the entertainment news though. |

Ohmigawd. I have just watched that "Victoria Beckham in LA" documentary on TV. Someone give that woman a slap. A very hard slap. Such a hard slap that her tiny brain falls out of her ear and rolls down the gutter into a drain. Please.

sonicl - I heard a great story at work yesterday about La Beckham. Y'know she did that horrible True Steppers song with Dane "I shagged Jordan, you know" Bowers? Well, apparently the producer of said tune had to use every piece of state of the art musical gear (and several days' work) to get her voice to somewhere even vaguely resembling a tune. The guy in question (drum and bass producer Johnny L) said that he was sick of being poor and ripped off, and that the money he received just about made up for the critical horror & embarassment of it all.

Excellent! What role was she ever supposed to fulfil in the Spice Girls anyway? Can't sing, can't dance, not a looker, no tits. I guess she must give good head.

Maybe she took it up the arse from Simon Fuller without lube? That would explain her constantly constipated expression.

The New York Post called Monday night's show "an orgy of self-indulgence" and described Beckham as "vapid and condescending." 14 years for the British media to figure that one out, good to see she was figured out in a New York second over there I still have the nasty feeling some American PR guru is going to get their hands on little miss vapid and inflict her, rebranded, on an unsuspecting US public.... |

Well the PR woman she has in that documentary sure isn't going to acheive that. I think someone sent her as a joke.

Something to look forward to then. And we've got Celtic in the States playing the MLS All-Stars tomorrow, not a bad week. |

It sounds like we're putting different teams out in the first and second halves though.

Watching that Coming to America doc at the moment. I tend to have a high tolerance for this kind of thing, but what what a load of old bollocks.
