The words with K as the third letter is my favourite exchange during the interviews on that DVD. I still laugh out loud everytime I watch it.

may i take this opportunity to say that gibby haynes is one of the coolest, scariest twats to ever get up on a stage; i'm constantly in awe of how much of a contradicting person he is.

Brilliant! Makes me smile every time. Fact note: I believe the guy interviewing them is Corey Rusk (Touch and Go head honcho).

i saw them yesterday for the first time at the 930 club. it was a very intense physical experience and overall i had an awesome time. they had kids from the school of rock program perform different songs with them, and at the end of the show, the band left and all the kids (about 20) just destroyed the stage and played sweet sweet noise for 15 minutes straight.
anyway i thought the kids were idiots individually, but i thought they added to the show as a whole. my boyfriend felt cheated paying to go see some kids play music. he was pretty much pissed off. |

Its weird thinking about the Boredoms in relation to the Butthole Surfers because of how influenced they were by them but how completely different of a direction they took.

'osorezan no stooges kyo' is rather buttholes-ish. i can see the similarities between earlier boredoms and 80s buttholes, vague as they may be. both bands are kinda a whacked out mash of psychedelia, hardcore/punk, and noise. kinda unfair to pigeonhole a band like the boredoms as anything, but they were a much different band in 88.

If you got the first four albums and stopped there you'd have all their best stuff. I really dig Rembrandt Pussyhorse.

I think I'm the only one who totally loves Independant Worm Saloon?
It's the Butthole's music given a classic rock production or something... very odd.. with Helios Creed on the album as well... "Dust Devil" is so good! |
