Ha!
The whole thing is pretty silly, isn't it? I place very little stock in the whole "rep" thing, as I assume most everyone here does if they've been here for any length of time. |

I have 65443 rep points which I suppose is good for 6 months.
But all rep does is make me feel awkward about something I posted. |

It's disgraceful to have the most reputation points. The sought-after "achievement" merely signifies that you are an utterly insincere poster that is rarely geniune and who constantly curries favor with (a) clique(s). For that matter, the whole internet is this way since it lends itself to such anonymity and pretention.

Atari: I see your point, but sonicl has been at the top for some time and I would not say for a second that he is remotely the type to deliberately "seek out" such a position.

Another thing that's a bit stupid about this "system" is that rep coming from people with hig rep are more "valued" than rep coming from less-repped people, that's plain "racist", Glice would say. If I rep some new poster he gets to "*** kicks all ya'all asses" in a sec. That's why even people with "shorter life" on here are high on reps.

More often than not, people rep me because of some joke rather than they agree with some post of mine. I do get agreement reps, but rarely. But I must admit that it is nice to get a compliment every once in a while but this is more just a general statement than just about rep.

let this be a lesson to you all.
when yr bored, go to the LAST PAGE and bump something chock full of innocence and wonder. Understand the procedure now? Just stop a few of their machines, and radios, and telephones, and lawn mowers, throw them into darkness for a few hours and then, sit back and watch the pattern. And this pattern is always the same? With few variations. They pick the most dangerous enemy they can find. And it's themselves. All we need do is sit back and watch. Then I take it that this place- This "Maple Street" is not unique? By no means. The world is full of Maple Streets. And we'll go from one to the other and let them destroy themselves. One to the other...One to the other...One to the other... |

It seems many people seeking to become popular and well-liked tend to attempt to appeal to the inner smart-ass in us all.
Don't get me wrong, humor is all well and good, but to chronically adopt this pattern is pure laziness and points to deep insecurities. |
