Masculin Feminin and Alphaville are favorites of mine.
I hear lots of talk about Week-End, but I haven't seen it yet.

With Godard I would say "a woman is a woman" or "pierrot le fou" are his most instantly charming. Or start with Breathless and go chronologically till you hit Week-End. Good stuff.
