Foyle's War, via Netflix. Fairly well-written British TV series about a WWII-era British detective.
Before that, we ran through the all-too-short Island at War series. Excellent stuff!

dammit, it's a pity that it got stolen like that. less revenue means less resources to continue making good shows. and i like that show. isn't hbo on demand already a reality? they should put it ALL online and let people watch at their pace. waiting for a show to come up is so archaic.
speaking of which, i've started watching better call saul, which got DVR'd complete (but i don't have much time to watch). instead, after kim gordon's book i've been renting "the good wife" which is kind of hilarious-- not too good that you can't do something else while watching, not too bad that it's insufferable-- it's just tv and just right to do mindless work. concentration not required. one thing i noticed after years of watching cable shows on disc-- these network show seasons are FUCKING INTERMINABLE. they really string along the main plot and lard it up with episodic silliness. which is what makes a show like this a great aid to sorting through boring paperwork. |

Still enjoying Foyle's War. A couple of seasons left. Seriously, probably the best television I've ever watched.

Saw GoT yesterday. Good start to season.
Saw the Mad Men too. boring episode, but had some god bits. Mad Men has always been 1/3 dreary dullness, and I hoped they would slam our faces with goodness these last 6 episodes, but ... I have a theory that Mad Men will end with Don Draper jumping out of his offfice window and the entire run of the show is a flashback that Draper experiences as he falls from the high rise window, as shown on the intro to the Mad Men show. we shall see.

That's a pretty popular theory. I've still no idea what's gonna happen. And! I thought it was a great episode.

finished it all, season 5. too bad to see it end. yeah, that nazi episode was great! also the last couple (superhero's of the jumper) as to Foyles War, sort of meh for me, good acting, but the scripts always have the cop on the side of good against the powerful bad people, and that's so far from being in reality, it sort of put me off the whole thing. I liked Honeysuckle, tho |

I always try to watch Mad Men but just end up falling asleep. doesn't seem to be any difference between this season and the first, besides the years and the fact that I fall asleep.
seems like the ultimate nostalgic trip......didn't live in the 60's, so what better way to pretend I did than to have it go by in real yearly TV season slow mo without the 'was there, had to be there' hipness that hippies talk about. like you can imagine lou reed walking down the sidewalk among these old fashion business men and bandwagon trailing young men who work in advertising. so I guess that's kinda cool, but I have no time for it. |

Can't recall how I found out about it, but I have been doing a slow rewatch of season 1 of "Parker Lewis Can't Lose".
