Actually I did "survival" training in a small area of German countryside for a week when I was in the air force. No showers then in tent city. But it was autumn and coolish so I really didn't sweat much. Still, you start to feel grimy.

What is it with you wankers and not swimming!? It's a survival skill, dudes. Go learn, now!

I do find it odd in this day and age that anyone over the age of ten can't swim. Regardless of whether it's a survival skill or not.

Seriously.
But the people I find don't know how to swim are generally black. Why is that? No country clubs near the ghetto?

Ah yes, blacks. That's true. But then again I rarely think of them as people. Which is wrong I suppose. Because they are. Well, sort of.

I wash daily, sometimes twice a day.
The longest I went without was almost two weeks when I shattered my tibia - I did use a washcloth, but that's just not the same. I had a friend put a folding chair in the shower eventually.

Might be the feeling of being trapped in an enclosed space. Harder to outrun the cops and such.
Oh, I'm being so bad. I don't really feel this way. Just trying my hand at racial comedy writing.

The longest I've gone is probably a week, but I've never really kept track.
I shower probably ever second to third day (usually three days when the weekend comes around), each time washing my hair with just conditioner. Except once a week I wash my hair with shampoo. I know a guy who is super OCD, and has like three showers a day. His skin is so dry

I honestly haven't washed my hair with anything other than water for about ten years now and it hasn't dreaded. It might knot up if I don't brush it for a few days, but it's never gone into dreads. |

I dunno. Possibly. But with water it's OK and after a while it just self-cleanses apparently. But yeah. Most likely.

I went two years without washing my hair with anything other than water. It never dreaded. It didn't smell, but it didn't smell, if you see what I mean. I ended up washing it because that particular agenda came to pass.
I've been 3 weeks without washing, except for ocassional walks in the rain. It become intoxicating, your own smell, but it's fucking horrible for those around you. I lived with a chap who had a self-imposed hermiticisim of not washing for 3 months. Fair play to him, but I couldn't stand to be in the same room as him after a month and a half. And now that ridiculous period of my life is behind me, I'll wash every other day or so, saving for particularly decadent weekends.

I thought the whole self-cleansing thing was a myth.
I'll have to google it. |

yes, the natural oils from yr hair, if you dont go roll around in some shit or garbage, will keep your hair healthy and clean, and surprisingly NOT SMELLING bad. Of course, I myself have to use some kind of soap on my hair every two months or it will start to smell, not terrible at all, but rather like what it is, a shitload of hair. It takes quite a bit of effort to make your hair actually stink.

That one time I did wash it 'properly' was for my dad's funeral and my hair reacted. I went to my dad's funeral looking like one of the Ronettes.
