This show is theee best of thee best. i'm hooked.
Tried Episode 1 Season 1 for the laughs with my wife a couple of weeks ago. We stared at the thing for 40 minutes, dribbling and shit.Looked at each other in awe as that first episode ended and watched six more ina row that first night. Jaw dropping. Am currently at Season 2 episode 5 only. So i know i still have a lot to see and *try* to avoid carefully the lostpedia but still want to grab a couple of clues here and there. Gawd. |

Haha, that's pretty much how my Mom and I reacted when we first saw the show. I have several really good eyeball spinning memories from that first season, like when Sayid first finds the beach cable or when Ethan beats up Jack, when they first find the Hatch. When we finished season 1 at 4 or whatever in the morning, we were frantic to speed down to the video store in the morning to get the second season, couldn't stop.
Lost never really loses it's steam though, it's consistantly exciting. It's awesome that you're staying spoiler free. It's so horrible when you accidentally spoil yourself. Glad you dig it.

You watched the whole thing on DVD or broadcast? I started watching it on Hulu at the end of November and finished season 5 before the new year. I thought seasons 1-3 were just fantastic but I felt season 4 was not as good and season 5 was just silly at times. Everyone changing their minds every 30 seconds seems like a way to fill time. And there was a bit too much going on for me to handle too. Don't get me wrong, I'm entirely jonesing for Feb 2--Groundhog Day--kinda appropriate... Maybe Bill Murray will make a guest appearance. I'm going to go back and watch maybe the last 5 episodes to try to get things straight in my head before season 6 starts. I also gotta say, I'm sure the end can't help but be dissapointing. They've just built things up so much, I can't see how they'll be able to wrap up all the loose ends. Kinda like the 'new' Star Wars. You know where the last movie ends--in order to pick up for the '77 movie. And too much of seems perfunctory: we need to hit this plot point, than this one... We kinda know what points need to get wrapped up and I think it will be more challenging doing that than laying out the story in seasons 1-5.

I tried to get into "Lost" last Spring. I bought the box set of Season 1 and really enjoyed it, so I went out and bought the box set of Season 2. It started well, but by the end it had got really silly, which put me off wanting to watch Season 3.

I watched Season 1 and 2 on DVD as well as the first I think 6 episodes of season 3 online. The rest I watched broadcast. The show is definitely much more enjoyable in a straight run on DVD instead of watching with commercials and dealing with week long gaps inbetween episodes. There's a season 4 episode that sticks out particularly in my mind. When I watched it broadcast, it was kind of an eh episode to me. But when I rewatched it with my dad (he's at work when the episode initially airs, so we tape them for him) it was alot better when run straight through. The episode is The Shape of Things to Come if you wondering, don't want to spoil greedrex any. Yeah I suppose season 4 is a little iffy at times but there's also some amazing episodes there, though I'll admit I think it has the worst season finale across these five seasons. Season 5 yeah I suppose it's only natural that you'd feel that way with what's going on. That season is alot better on a second viewing. Interesting Star Wars analogy, I think we will have to be wary about something like that occurring. With so much left to speak of on the show, it would certainly be lame if they just went around checking that stuff off the list from episode to episode "Ok, here's who Adam and Eve are..., or oh, the Smoke Monster that one's easy...". That definitely would be horrible. I put my faith in those guys, but it certainly wouldn't be hard to screw up.

I've had a theory that season 6 will start like season 1, with jack waking up. Starting all over, except they have all the memories of the past 5 seasons.

I heard that this season, all the characters will be replaced by Muppets. So, Miss Piggy as Juliet or Kate?

I think it's hilarious that Shannon died only like 7 days after Boone.

Trying not to add a spoiler, from yesterday's show, the guy said 'you hit me with a rifle butt". Anybody know what season/episode that was? I think it was season 1 but I can't find the episode.

this show is just pomo bullshit that consists of self conciouss l.a. actors immaculately dressed and made up getting knocked out every few seconds and then saying something dramatic relating to something you don't understand or give a shit about to move along another plot point.
