Apparently he hasn't lived in Australia since 1980 (I read this on the internet so it must be true). |

yugoslavia had a really good music scene in the 80s from what i can gather, and the ex-yugo countries produced some good stuff after that too.

the ones that i've heard that i liked were sarlo akrobata, disciplina kicme (earlier stuff only), SCH, obojeni program (ditto earlier stuff), supernaut, majke, satan panonski, termiti, paraf.
a few years ago there was a montenegrin girl who posted on this board and she wised me to that stuff. there were more things she turned me on to but i can't remember what they were all called now. i've tried searching for more of yugo stuff out on the net, and there's information out there but it's really difficult if you can't speak serbian/croatian |

^ yes exactly, sarlo akrobata are pretty cool, so is disciplina.
but some new stuff is also great; my uncles band is also pretty badass http://www.myspace.com/darkwooddub, they've been around for about 10 years and theyve got a pretty big fanbase by now. but whats good with all these bands in this scene is that they all have something special and they really sound different than anyone else. i dont know if that makes sense. |

ok, you may be right.. i read recently he wakes up at dawn and brings his guitar to the beachto write songs, easier than lugging a piano around so i presumed he was speaking of a melbourne beach cuz he mentioned good weather but you could be right... anyway, he is an aussie nonetheless..... |

actually, club moral are pioneers of noise, started in the 80's and appear in tons of compilations.
just found out a couple of days ago. |

If I listed them all they would fill at least three pages of this thread.

Well since we are apparently only supposed to pick one band, it would be have to be Einstuerzende Neubauten.
