ohhhhhhhh...
i used to think rapeman was a good and clever band name, but it's just a comic book character. it'd be like someone in japan calling their band scrooge mcduck. |

I always wondered...
Is Shellac just the backwards spelling of Callesh or is there more to the name? |

3.a phonograph record made of a breakable material containing shellac, esp. one to be played at 78 r.p.m.: an LP that can hold nearly 10 times as much as the old shellac.
probably has something to do with them being pro-records and anti-cd and such... |

Besides all the ones previously mentioned,
Tripping Daisy The Flaming Lips The Polyphonic Spree also, there used to be a local band in my town that named themselves Baxter Stockman, after the Ninja Turtles villian that was kind of a rip-off of "The Fly". |

Shellac is crushed beetles and shizz that they use to glaze jelly beans, smarties and some fruit.

I was going to post those as well....but then figured that I'd regret it. Tim is another person on my evergrowing list of "rockstars gone bad". somewhere between Wes killing himself and David Bowie's slobber, he lost his cool. but I pose to you a question for the ages: how does someone who plays guitar have such soft hands?? |

They're still really cool band names. Coincidentally, Jesus Hits Like the Atom Bomb is the coolest album name ever. As for the last part, I have soft hands and play guitar, becuase I have obsessive compulsive disorder and I wash my hands every ten minutes or so. |

theoretically that should dry them out! seriously, The Secret to Tim's Silkie-Smooth Hands is something that I plan on asking Gawd all about when I die. I imagine him shouting "HOW CAN I SING ABOUT SUNSHINE AND PUPPIES IF I DON'T HAVE ANY HANDCREAM??!!". fucking divas. back in the day, back in Dallas, Tim and the gang would play gigs in people's living rooms. this was a few years before Tripping Daisy was formed and I think they called themselves Sofa Kingdom. chemicals have worked their black majick on a large part of my memories from that time....so who knows if that name is right. on topic: SOFA KINGDOM |
