this made me realize how interesting it would be to discuss art on these forums. we should do more of it.

for example, we should post art installations from around the world, talk about them and what not. it would definitely be a worthwhile topic, someone should start one.......cough porkmarras cough.......

seriously though, it would be better than talking about the raincoats for the 100th time........

Thurston Moore is gonna be remembered as a Harry Smith archivist-type of figure, only of underground music.

Yeah, this is about right.

This dude is spray-painting himself! Please excuse moi for pointing out the obvious, but this properly qualifies the usage of the slang modifier: "Rad!"

stencils go back to the fucking caves of lascaux. graffiti goes back to ancient rome. satire in simple/clean/stark design goes back to dada, milton glaser and before both. none of that stuff you just posted is in any way unique. design is just design.

of course, your rule is an opinion. an it seems as though you just took that line right out of a book, unless you have first hand experience with many American art schools.

im not saying your wrong. Living in America, i have only met two persons who are actually interesting and creative, but i doubt it would be different in Europe so...

To begin with, Mr. willy-nilly word-slinger should define what in the hell he means by "receptive."

There's not a single thing in art that one can appreciate if he "decides" not to. And most of the times "older artists'works" influence more our opinions on "more modern pieces of art" than the artists that did those "more modern" pieces. Forgive my english. That said, i like some of Chabib's works, i don't like some others, but who actually cares? Probably not even you, Porkie... And back to the actual topic title, i don't even know exactly what he did for SY (or which of his pieces SY decided to use ), so i can't answer properly the poll. M'kay?

Frankly, I'm a little disappointed in you chabib. Why would you have to explain yourself to a fucking boardie.
Also, the fact that your work sells is irrelevant, and doesn't mean shit.
