If she is, she has done a pretty good job of covering it up. She's about as squeeky clean as they come. I could almost believe that 'troopergate' was created as democratic sabotage. That whole thing was kinda weird. I do agree with yr anarchy stance though. Will it work? Dunno 'til you've tried! |

It would take a MASSIVE change in people's attitudes, you're dead on there. I still feel that there IS an alternative to what we (at least in the UK) have now. We here in the UK need to learn how to fight back and give a shit about each other again....a very tall order, but it is possible...

No, I think that she will bring in a new group of voters. She won't move Hilliarites but she will get more people registered much like Obama has done. A very wise move on Mcain's part. These next few months will be very interesting. |

Disagree. Mere media fodder. Meanwhile, the real power behind the throne carry on as per normal.

no, i think it was a good move... because right now Obama is getting all the press, so for McCain to go out and grab a gilf is pretty smart. right now he needs some pub, and this may have done just that.

Hmm. That's only because of the country's blind spot where Alaska is concerned. Really, she's going to turn into a serious boost for Mccain. She doesn't have much experience but what she has is extremely positive. Don't get me wrong, I will be voting for Obama but this was a really good move for him. It will NOT be a cakewalk for Obama. |

Well, I certainly can't disagree with the last part. Although I bet Rove is rolling in his grave--oh darn, he's still alive isn't he? |

And, I must say, it seems quite appropriate that I have achieved the rank of "little trouble girl" while posting about Sarah
Ya know, I should reintroduce myself. I spent the first 3/4 of my life in the NY/NJ area and then moved to Alaska. I worked at a TV station* where I was exposed to a lot of Alaska politics--one of the reasons I left (to go back to NJ--HA!). I left just as the 'troopergate' thing was breaking. Alaskan's really are on a first name basis. Despite its size, it really is a small place--everything happens in a very small area so you really know all of what's going on. During the govenor's race, we (the state) really got to know the three candidates. And honestly, this was the first sane gov's election in Alaska in the time I was there. Lindauer = carpetbagger, Frank was a joke, an asshole and a failure--told the people what they wanted to hear and got elected. But Frank certainly made it a lot easier for Sarah. So this is really exciting for me. Sarah's name has been discussed for months but never really seriously. I was surprised when it wasn't on the pundits 'short list'. I was NOT surprised when I found out (here) that she was nominated. Sarah Palin has a pair (at least) of brass cajones. She would make an excellant VP. I would not be concerned if John kicked it. Sarah could step in without a problem. As I said earlier, but for the abortion thing, I think she would have been a kick ass VP for Obama. Think about that! |
