I'm glad Sonic GAIL jumped in, it was getting so silly around here. If all you see in Florida is Disney, its like saying all of LA is West LA fashionistas or vegan nazis from Silverlake... but in South LA is a bunch of jumping gang activities, in East LA the immigrants are pushing tamales and raspados on the block with shopping carts.. rich black folks postd up like the Cosbys in Lidera Heights... LA is such a diverse place, and this is just one city (that has a third of the state)!

In Florida there is a lot of diversity as well.. sure there are tourists and caribbeans, and also rich white folks and retirees, plus normal american urban folk, and there are gangs and shootings and drug dealing, all that normal good americana city life.. but there are also plenty of backwoods racist mother fuckers, ignorant as folks, po folks, etc etc, all of which folks like those arguing with me here I would suppose would rather not acknowledge they are there in Florida... america is a very very diverse place, but we must call out and address the negative and minimize it.

coastal areas is where all the population is. cept for orlando. but i've been there several times, it's borderline 'southern' .

and i acknowledged the northern cities... you are still a minority. if you chopped off the state at orlando, the northern half might be accepted... but the most populous cities are Tampa/St Pete, Miami, Lauderdale, Orlando, and Jax, right? only Jax qualifies above that imaginary line, so I'm sorry, yr state is really not truly 'southern'. its nothing to be sad about, its just how it is

I'm talking about geographics not population. The population has grown rapidly, but that does not mean that this ain't the damn south man. I have traveled all the way down to the tip of the keys. Woods and swamps lined the interstate. Deep in those swamps are communities full of First baptist Churchs, and people wearing trucker hats, and riding around with dog boxes and when you drive down the road there is a deer head with no antlers some thoughtless fool discarded, or a couch nestled in the bushes in the ditch.

Go watch that movie Rosewodd. It will teach you some about racism in FL. I am proud to say that the founders of my town helped those poor people find safety when they reached Bryceville. That railroad track runs through Bryceville. It makes my trailer shake everytime a train goes by.

brother, you don't seem to get it very well yourself. It is simple.. if extreme or open racists (not hicks) can be found anywhere, from LA to Boston, from Ohio to Mississippi, surely they can be found Florida correct? However, Florida happens to be in "the South." So if there are racists in Florida and it happens to be in the South, how is it not the South? You forget that none of us accuse all Floridians of being guilty by association, but come off it, who the cap fit let them wear it! The difference between racists in Ohio, Boston or Los Angeles (there are plenty of these fucks here as well) is that these racists are not found in the traditional hotbed of racism in America. Ohio, Boston or Los Angeles do not have the extreme history of radical and even deadly racism which the South, and Florida included, have.. we all get that all of florida in fact by means entirely racists, and that racists are a minority, but none-the-less, it is most definitely "the South"
