"'Serenity: Better Days' will be released as a 3 part comic in early 2008. The series is a step back in time to the early years of the firefly crew, and the fledgling gang's turbulent attempts to cope with success after they pull off their first successful heist. It features the same creative team as Those Left Behind, with the story by Joss Whedon and Brett Matthews, art by Will Conrad, and Adam Hughes providing all three covers this time."

im pretty sure it was him lined up to direct it
but it all took too long and now its not happening

Apparently Joss turned in a script for "Wonder Woman" and the studio rejected it. I don't know what its status is currently but Joss has washed his hands of it and moved on.

Firefly was the best thing on TV ever. don't bother watching Serenity until you've seen the series though.

Firefly is pretty great. Now, floatinglonely exaggerated a bit, but it's a really enjoyable series, mainly becuz of the great characters..it ends "abruptedly" (?), but it's definitely worth watching. For us males (and males robots) there are a bunch of reasons with name and surname to watch it ha ha .
Serenity is great too, but watch firefly first, they sell it for a few pounds on amazon.
Need to track down a "used" angel box .... would you send me your friend's one, and then pretend some shady guy robbed you?

you know what would make a good movie?

Xena vs. Firefly.

it would be tough to judge who would come out on top (although I'm pretty sure that Xena has experience in the position).

How did we go from "Firefly" to "Xena"? "Xena" is cheeseball. I don't think they took themselves seriously. Whedon projects have given us some pretty sexy ladies.

ayayay... firefly RULES. watchit before serenity, definitely, as serenity is the "final episode" so to speak.

yeh, I think they turned down his script and all the revisions he provided, so he just decided to walk away from the project...
