Thanks for the feedback everyone.
Richard made a good point about similarities being irrelavent in some cases. It's just I live for music haha, and we're two completely different people. SpectralJulianisnotdead, thanks for the advice! That's the exact mistake I made last relationship, and it's true; I'll have more time with my friends and my band now, and my freedom isn't limited. Slavo, yeah that's exactly how I feel, but more in a positive way . I'm dissapointed that I have to face the change, but I'm sure I'll enjoy it in the next few weeks. Truncated, haha, I love the definition. Do you want good or bad Kudos for it? I guess I'm just making this over dramatic. But thanks for the support

i also like the first slipknot album, if it had come out last year on troubleman unlimited or monitor or a similar label and they didn't wear masks, they would be the most name-dropped band in the land of indie noise.
yeah, iowa had a few decent songs but the last one...no fucking horrible. mate feed kill repeat ain't any better really. |

Slipknot are indeed victims of their own image - they are actually a lot of fun, good tunes, and chappy chappy the singer has an excellent ear for a melody (something that metal bands tend not to have). I always find it funny how SOAD are semi-cred, Slipknot not at all (if you're over 15) and RATM are one of the few Metal bands liked genuinely by non-metallers and metallers alike, in spite of RATM being turgid shite. If I want tuneless noise, there are a lot of people who do it infitely better than RATM (see Grindcore thread).

i couldn't agree more with this post. especially about rage against the machine. everybody: "have you listened to their guitar player?! he makes guitar NOISES!!! like he has a wah pedal and in the verses all he does is go WAH-WAH-WAH-WAH, is he a genius or what?! but wait, he also has a whammy pedal!!!" |

Totally dude. The same people who think SY are just making noise... I shudder to think what they'd make of Haino, Rowe, Niblock, Zeni Gava or whoever... I actually played SY to one such person... the Diamond Sea, if memory serves... the look on his face was one of beatific horror...

exactly, i've argued with these people about how simplistic and repetitive tom morello's sounds are, and tell them that there's bands and artists that have, long before ratm, come up with more groundbreaking sound; and they always go "but that's just noise" or "well, yeah!!! but you have to admit he's pretty impressive, he sounds like a dj!!"
most ratm are pretty mindless. |

4 words for you wino:
"anthrax" "and" "public" "enemy" everything after that, especially with ratm, has been xeroxed recycled paper. |

Rob, this is my advice. Go out with her for 2-4 months, get to know her really well, and save the physical stuff for later (it could get in the way).
And for God's sakes, take it SLOW! |
