i have 2, love em but dont want anymore. in fact the appointment for the "snip" is in the thought process at the moment. all i have to do is pluck up the balls (if u excuse the expresion) to go in to the docs and do te deed!

It takes 15 minutes; they do it all outside the body now, and the holes are so tiny that they don't even have to stitch you up.
It's really not all that bad. I watched them do mine; it was pretty interesting.
You definitely can't do any heavy lifting for a week or two afterward, but it's not all that agonizing.

It is yr body telling you "you better have the kids now because soon it will be too late!"

a woman's fertility peaks at age 17-23. after that it drops 15-20% every 5 years, and by the time you are 32 yr fertility is about 45% of what it was at yr peak.

I know all this stuff cuz me and the ex-wife tried for years and years to hage children, read all about it, research, etc. and when it did not happen (she was 31-32 at the time) we got tested and I found out I am nearly infertile. we tried for 3 years for nothing. it was rough.

It is for the best because our marriage was slowly crumbling and children would have made the divorcee so much more painful.

there, I've said enough!

...hmmmm, here in my country we have a saying "I am here and behind me comes the flood" - you know? It seems like you don't care what happens when you pass away, when you're just gone. You're over and that's it.

I don't think so. I think it's sort of (in a twisted way maybe, I admit) my responsibility to have a child and just let the family carry on.

but again, I ain't blinded by any beliefs or anything, I'm just thinking about it.

they go into the gene pool of humanity and add to it. not having children is not an easy chouice, just like having children is not an easy choice.

the thing being that maybe half of all children born were "surprises/accidents"

Yes, it's selfish, but I'm not going to take on the World's Biggest Commitment just so someone doesn't accuse me of a type of selfishness I'm perfectly willing to admit.
And I have no problem with living a barren, sterile existence that ends when I die.
