Yeah, Derek.
Check out that Emeralds band when you get a chance maybe. They've got a lot of dreamy drone shit. I dunno. |

I'd like to start a band called something like Dickfaced Dildo Dudes or something and have all the album titles be like "sticking your dick up a fucking cunty std asshole faggot bitch" and such. Just really ridiculously stupid.
And then when people actually listen to the record, it's the softest, gentlest, most beautiful ambient music ever. |

There's a lot of folks doing some very enjoyable stuff in the ambient guitar field right now. There's a few folks getting a second (or more) mention among these:
Aidan Baker (http://www.myspace.com/aidanbakermusic) Seconds In Formaldehyde (http://www.myspace.com/secondsinformaldehyde) Rameses III (http://www.myspace.com/ramesesiii) Gareth Hardwick (http://www.myspace.com/garethhardwick) Ben Nash (http://www.myspace.com/bennash1) Peter Wright (http://www.myspace.com/distantbombs) Hakobune (www.myspace.com/hakobunemusic) Taiga Remains (doesn't have his own myspace, but puts some stuff on www.myspace.com/studentsofdecay) Area C (www.myspace.com/areac) and I can't believe that I missed my current favourite: Marble Sky (sorry, no myspace, but there is a track on www.myspace.com/studentsofdecay) |

Weird, I was just looking to see if we had an Aidan Baker thread because I wanted to mention that his new collab with thisquietarmy (whose ep "Orange" blew me away) is coming out very soon. You know, the first new Aidan Baker release in a week. But he's done a lot of good stuff. I'm not a Nadja fan really, but Aidan is great.

you are so right on this one. I think we've talked about this before, but "Orange" might as well be my ever favourite ambient/drone record. And I've heard a few, already.
