knowledge of how the quantum world truly works could lead to all sorts of crazy new shit
there is enough energy trapped in an atom's strong nuclear force to power all sorts of shit. figuring out how to harnes that energy without a giant nuclear reactor could give unlimited energy to the world, for a very low pollution factor and it wuold cave all the fucking oil/coal barons running the world right now, especially those fucks in saudi arabia. developing mastery of these sub atomic realms could increase our capabilities for nanotech, as well as nanobiology. it could really bring teur nano machines, capable of repairing shit in outer space, or in our spinal cords. understanding the big picture of physics could allow us to rewrite relativity and quantum mechanics into one theory. we could figure out how to use the extra dimensions of spacetime. alll sorts of funky shit.
