Yeah, they don't necessarily have the most complex rhyme schemes. That, I can admit.
Ummm.. If you liked Prom Queen, you might like stuff from the Riddlebox era. Check out Lil Somethin' Somethin. Or if you really wanna get some neden, play Love Song, it's one of my all-time favorites. And if you need to assure her that you're truly down with the clown, just mention the Dog Beats. And just for fun, check out Is That You? feat Kid Rock. |

I write better rhymes than that and I SUCK. go ahead, listen to koRn, but oh FUUCK!!
it's because you're young and don't KNOW how MCs on the mic should FLOW. the beats are good, but the rhymes are fucking SLOPPY. all that's missing from that shit is the clown JALOPY. yes, I did just rhyme sloppy and jalopy. SEEN. |

oh! i'd most definitely mmm-mmm! flotterz, you must never allow me near gungirls, or i'll have the unplug your motherboard. i'm weak with temptation and all that, and we're just "internet friends", so really, stabbing you in the rear console would be no disloyalty, but a mere trifle, par for the course, all the cliches that say i'd get you out of the way by all means necessary. no, not really. i think you are the only sentient being capable of living with her. props for that. |

I think I have a pretty decent idea of how emcees should sound. I listen to a fair amount of DOOM, Geto Boys, early Triple Six Mafia, Tribe Called Quest, Wu-Tang, Black Star, Snoop, Dr. Dre, Esham, Awesome Dre, Eminem, Beastie Boys, N.W.A., etc. I'm not the biggest hip-hop head, but I certainly am not unexposed to the genre in any sense (yes, I've heard acts like Zion I, Kool Moe Dee, and De La Soul, before anyone mentions them). I've admitted that ICP are far from the best emcees, but they're certainly not as talentless as what you just shat out. No offense. It's not the skill involved in making their music that attracts me to it. In fact, sometimes it can be the exact opposite. For example, I can't get enough of Shaggy's singing. It's soooo off key and horrid. Or lines like "Well, I'm up for the shot in a minute/Show me a valley, I might go in it". The music is very self-aware. It's not really the rhymes that are the best part of their lyrics. Listening to a great ICP song can be a lot like watching one of my favorite cheesy slasher films. It's not meant to be taken so seriously. They're the fucking INSANE CLOWN POSSE for fuck's sake. Plus, I get a kick every time they mention local streets like Gratiot and Livernois. I pass by the places in these songs daily. |
