the Kill Bills rule. I think Vol 2 is the better of the two.

Perhaps. They're about the same for me.

2 or 3 things i know about her...that was intense! there was so much philosophy and everyday beauty packed into this thing...it put me in this weird state of deep thought/brain shutoff pleasure that i've never experienced with a film before...very fun but i would never introduce anyone to godard with this one...unless i wanted to make sure they never watched another

Tough calls on the Kill Bills. Vol 1 has the crazy 88's and of course Go Go. Vol 2 has Pi Mae and Vol 2 after she gets out of Paula Schultz's hiding spot the close up with the dirt all over her face shows just what a stunner Uma is.
Toss in the pimp master that Michael Parks plays (it's killing me I can't think of his name) and 2 comes out ahead. Plus the version of No One Told me About Her the best cover of that song.

Can I talk about a movie I saw? Or is this just a thread about movies we watch, like on TV? It's the difference between the couch and the movie theater--no small distinction!

DVD's are acceptable, yes. As are VHS and beta max. No laserdisc or umd's though. You'll learn the rules.

This one where these two dudes are piling up on one chick and making her gag and cry, and then she's all "I'm done" and one dude asks her what her father would think of her right now and then she starts crying some more. Then he gives her a facial.

Wes Anderson is one of my favorite directors ever, I can't wait to see The Fantastic Mr. Fox (released in February here in Belgium )

anyone familiar with barney gumble's art film from that episode of the simpsons with the critic? the opening of antichrist is exactly like that. so unintentionally hilariously bad. The rest of the film has an interesting atmosphere though. |

I am a big fan of Kill Bill 1, but I was bored by Kill Bill 2. have seen it three times, and it still bores me.
I liked the way the first one had a definite japanese movie feel, but the second one was more of a slog a la american movies. buried alive, fistfights, etc. that sucked for me.

Oh Man! To me, Kill Bill, 1+2 together, is one gigantic 4hr extravaganza, even though the second half of it is paced differently than the first half - as it should be. The final 30min is genius. The Suits made it 2 parts. If I had seen part 1 in the theatre, I would have been pissed off. That's not a full movie. Kill Bill is fucking brilliant.
