Those I posted are from another forum. I'm not posting a link to it as I've seen some stuff that's in print.

Gate - The Wisher Table
This release from New Zealand noise rock guitarist Michael Morley completes a trilogy for the Table of the Elements label that began with the drone masterpiece The Dew Line and was followed the equally impressive, if a little off kilter, Monolake. The third installment is a continuation the desolate themes of isolation that made the previous records discomforting explorations of lucid guitar texture's and rambled vocal desperation. The vague song forms reflect the music of his other project, Dead C, in some manner, yet, at the same, that is probably the only other comparison to this unique brand of noise shaping, feedback-drenched minor-key strum underlined by droning loops and the noise of corroding speakers. Like fellow New Zealand noise groups Rain and Flies Inside the Sun, Gate's charm lies in the apparent homemade isolation that gives them a tone unlike anything else. Such outlandish experimentation could not occur in the calculation of a studio environment, like a feedback-drenched minor-key strum underlined by droning loops and the noise of corroding speakers. Somehow this is a little hard to hold the attention, yet, as whole, this record is fine and bold statement, and is certainly a vital album in the spectrum of '90s post-rock and noise music. That Gate has worked with guitarist Lee Ranaldo of Sonic Youth may give an indication of the six string-havoc on offer here. http://www.sendspace.com/file/skrd2g |

from the sure nuff and yes i do blog
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=BJW42UN3 Harry Taussig - Fate Is Only Once From Boomkat: 'Fate is Only Once' was originally released back in 1965 but was an impossibly short run privately pressed LP, obtainable by almost nobody. Of course it has become the stuff of legend for John Fahey fans and Takoma collectors desperate to find more Taussig material than the short contributions to 'Contemporary Guitar Spring '67' compilation and now thankfully it's been given the full-on re-issue treatment from NY label Tompkins Square. Remastered and packaged with the same liner notes as the original record this is a stunning example of the Takoma style of solo guitar picking. Fahey fans will find much to sink their teeth into here, and although I'd never heard of Taussig before listening to this cd it was quickly apparent from the first couple of tracks that the man had an incredible skill, much in the same way as Fahey. This is the sort of American music steeped in history, in blues and folk and in rock 'n roll - and now a new generation of listeners and guitarists are hearing these recordings and being inspired once more. If you've been enjoying the stream of releases from axe worshippers Jack Rose, James Blackshaw or Six Organs of Admittance's Ben Chasny then there's not a chance you won't fall for 'Fate is Only Once'. I think there's something about knowing where it came from and hearing the recording quality that gives it that little something else, a certain magic if you will - highly recommended!

Excellent quality radio recording.
I think this would make a pretty good introduction to late and later period AMM for anyone interested. Quote:

FUN - EP
http://www.noisecorewalze.com/media/...e_a_hammer.mp3 http://www.noisecorewalze.com/media/...ocket_song.mp3 http://www.noisecorewalze.com/media/...sportscoat.mp3 http://www.noisecorewalze.com/media/...04-panther.mp3 The nastiest and meaniest group since Rapeman. If you are fed up with The Jesus Lizard (is it even possible?) and Albinism, try this one. These Finns knows how to blow your brains out. One of my all time favorite groups. |
