not salvation. it is not a selfish pleasure. i can find pleanty of that around. yes I do long for eternal rest and I am not too high on my horse to admit that I am never selfish. it is in all humans to be this way. it is also in all humans to be kind. god brings out the kind in me ppl like you bring out the selfishness.

i do have other issues to adress it is true, but i would not even admit to these to myself if i had no faith. what do you think makes the difference in a person like me? you do not know me what i feel what i have lived. i have god in me and i have evil in me. without the god in me the evil would take over.

What is your sense of purpose?

Who do YOU love and why?

Why do you have morals?

My answers are probably the same as most. My sense of purpose is to make the most out of this life as I can. To try to make my surroundings better for myself, my neighbor, and the next generation. I love my family, friends, beautiful girlfriend, and music, because they bring happiness, security, and fun. I have morals because my parents treated me with respect and taught me empathy.

Me too. if I don't believe though I lose my life. you care about your life right? who does not. But this phsyical form is not my life it is only preparation for my real life.

This is not a test of your faith. It is a test of your logic... your ability to reason.

And sorry Gail but, as the rest of you can hopefully see, it is difficult to communicate with Christians (even the ones who think they are open minded) when faced with statements like "But this phsyical form is not my life it is only preparation for my real life."

That literally is borderline insane.

knox is right. You are using that topic because it is one that is big in the media. You hear alot of fighting about it. The media does not in any way represent reality.

In fact it is pretty pathetic to me that you would pick up a real cause that is very personal to ppl on here to use soley as a tool to prove your point. I hate all religious sect, but I do think everyone has the right to believe in the entity of their choice. Just as long as you don't use religion to promote hate, murder, wars, or things that my help out humanity like the catholics had done/ and still do with contraceptions. The whole gay issue is boring is like beating a dead horse.
