Sorry to hear about your loss, Misty.
I confessed the feelings I've had building up for nigh on three years to the person I'd honestly consider the love of my (short) life. Unsurprisingly, they were too taken aback to know how to respond - fearing that response was why I'd kept it in for so long - and I wanted to curl up in a ball and not feel anything for a while. 'Twas the only way I'd ever get catharsis, though.

Uncertainty, discontent, difficulties in communicating and being completely overwhelmed + on edge seem to be contagious right now. It's a type of mutual assurance that misses the mark of catharsis more often than not and careens straight into discouragement and resignation.

The girl I've been really down bad for over the last few months, and who cancelled on a couple of dates due to mental health struggles, has a girlfriend. This doesn't materially affect me as much as it could, but I'm not really into poly stuff and don't want to risk complicating things too much.
Also, I have scabies.

Austria just decided to elect a far right party in a parlamentary election. After years of a devastating pandemic and recent floodings that have razed existences, people decided to cast their vote for a party that spread disinformation about COVID and denies climate change.
After re-electing a chancellor that had been involved in several scandals and previously lost a vote of confidence, which is akin to shooting yourself in the foot with a shotgun, a significant amount of the voting public now went "Hm, I'm bleeding and it hurts like hell. I guess I'll shoot myself in the other foot as well, I wanna see what happens.". For fuck's sake. I'm done with people. |
