Should racists be kicked off this forum? - Page 5

I think that a lot of it has to do with the fact that this board does support the image of the band. If people on this board are ceaselessly picking on someone, even as a joke, or using excesive racist comments, even as a joke, Habib and the band have an obligation to point out that they're reponsible enough to do something about it. It's a good idea to give off a big warning that there are some things being said that the band doesn't want to be taken the wrong way, by anyone. Especially in connection with them and their community.

Even if it is a joke, things go too far, and not everyone who comes here knows it's a joke. It is just a message board, but it's Sonic Youth's message board, and these are real fans reading this stuff. They have a right and an obligation to dictate what they want to be represented by.

Habib, if you don't like being bothered by this board, why don't you make a regular user a mod? You won't have to be bothered by us, the losers who don't get out as much as they should.

Yeah, if that is the case (automatic emails for reported posts) I can understand why you would lash out at us and shit. So sorry about that.

The only thing that really pissed me off to any extent was that there were no guidelines set down for us prior to the bans so we didn't know if we were committing any bannable offense, but obviously we have all now learned from experience.

As far as laila is concerned, I never seriously harrased her (outside of saying I'd love it if she declared Jihad on my penis, but that would probably be more painful for me than I think sexually satisfying, seeing as total war on such a tiny body part would almost certainly lead to that body parts destruction).

This whole ban/kick thing is lame. I want to kick the teeth in on some american bastards now.
