Just watched Videodrome. Pretty weird. I had a hard time telling what was really going on in the film and what wasn't.

Not too long ago, I watched a British film with Rowan Atkinson... I think it was called Keeping Mum. It was hilarious, and a really good movie... consider it RECOMMENDED.
Also, I started watching a Japanese movie, one of those insane "exploitation (?)" films, called Audition. It seemed to be fucking INTENSE, as well as incredibly disturbing, yet still a really good film. I haven't seem all of it, yet. But all of it is on youtube, and so... I will! One of the most fucked up scenes I've ever seen comes from Audition, being this (watch both in the order they are): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=83ziN2DqdQA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z9GlqG_831Q

i don't like audition.
granted, i've only seen 9 or 10 miike films, which isn't very much, considering he's done like 100 in the past decade, but... audition.. eh... see, that's a movie i only need to watch once and then never again. it was all concept and the concept was good, but ... the film just bored me.and i'm never bored. but i'm glad you dug it. |

'Cause I've re-watched it yesterday and it's good, that's all:
Author: dirtychild from Australia I just love this movie / mock-u-mentary! Best in Show is a "mockumentary" made by the same team who brought you the also brilliant "This Is Spinal Tap". It follows several contestants of the Mayflower Dog Show and their dogs. You have a sexually frustrated yuppie couple who met at "Starbucks from across the street", a couple of Gay queens with their Shihtzus, a working class couple with a wife who has had "hundreds of boyfriends", a redneck ventriloquist with his blood hound, and a "Anna Nicole Smith" trophy wife wannabe and her lesbian dog handler. This is just such a wacky bunch - it is a great ride. Some may find it a bit too slow - but I just loved all the subtle humour in it - you can definitely get repeat viewings out of this one! It is a total scream!! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0218839/ |

I actually own 70 or so Troma movies. I'm trying to collect them all. Easily the best film company in the world. I met Lloyd about 6 months ago.

What about thier new one "Poltrygeist"? Is that being put out in theatres? There was a brief time in the 90's where they had this surge of popularity and sort of mainstream success, I remember "Tromeo and Juliet" actually got some publicity, but I never hear about new Troma movies anymore.

redneck zombies!
saw that when i was about 11 or so - it was my first experience of a truly low budget film ditto for curse of the cannibal confederates (any film that sees nothing wrong with using fireworks as a substitute for explosions is ok by me!) |
