If it wasn't a top 50 I would have voted. And I have to say this is a very decent list.

I voted for The Caution Appears by Fushitsusha, I can't remember how high though. But yeah, I would of thought Pathetique would just about sneak into the list at least, quite a few people here seem to rate that one.

the fushitsusha numbers

21 - Fushitsusha- A Death Never to be Complete : 21
21 - Fushitsusha – Pathétique : 3,18
21 - Fushitsusha - The Caution Appears : 11,10
19 - Fushitsusha – Allegorical Misunderstanding : 19

again had every one come to a consensus on say Pathétique which would have been my choice, it certainly would have ranked

Ok, here I go: i'm completely a child of the 90s and I really like this list. I know lists are relative. I know this is an SY board and I'm an SY fan, therefore I like this list (again). But... Check Your Head? If you don't take the Beastie Boys seriously then you weren't there. I'm done.

I'm pleased to see ATR's The Future of War in there, though I suspect without my ranking it wouldn't've featured.

Anyway. Insert usual scathing comment about you all having cloth-ears.

i didn't have time to vote i would have voted for The Time Is Nigh first, II second, & Pathetique third among 90s Fushitsusha

I didn't really start listening to stuff that I can still bear until I was 17 or so ('99) so I'm in the worst position of faintly remembering some stuff but not really being there with a developed set of faculties.

How many people here really did come of age in the '90s? Few, I should imagine.

if you were saying this in reference to the jesus lizard, they are one of the few (3 or 4) bands i listened to in the 90s that i still enjoy now. in fact i like them a lot more now.

ha ha!! why are we all whinging????

we voted for these albums... this poll was here for ages...

kinda suprising that a few were missing but kinda not suprised about the top 5. loveless deserves to be there, greatest album ever...... totally groundbreaking, influencial and beautiful. nothing sounded like it before or nothing has sounded quite like it since....but then ive said that before......

spiderland, without doubt deserved to be higher than washing machine as it is a near perfect album...

but hey, we all voted for this list so its unfair of us to mock the results.... but it is fun tho!!!

I dunno if Loveless was really that groundbreaking, especially compared to something like Spiderland. Certainly, it popularized the genre, but actually, Isn't Anything was way more groundbreaking (mainly because it came before Loveless)... and a way better record. Loveless was just really simple boring songs with a lot of guitar layers. Basically, it was Isn't Anything with worse songs, worse production, and more noise. There are maybe 3 great songs on it.

If we're talking groundbreaking and revolutionary, the entire shoegaze genre can be traced back to dream pop bands like Cocteau Twins and the noisey pop Jesus and Mary Chain were doing. MBV can be credited with popularizing the genre, but I think even Slowdive's "Just for a Day", released the same year as Loveless, was about a thousand times better.

I think Spiderland, however, was an album that came out that definitely didn't sound like anything released before. And beyond just its influence, it also happens to be an amazing record with 6 jawdropping songs..... just amazing.

Nah, it was more in reference to something Pookie says quite a bit - if you were around at the time (I wasn't) Pixies were for gays. Personally, I suspect anyone floating around and 'of a decent age' (I wasn't) in the early 90s would've picked the Stone Roses over MBV. Nirvana would've still been as big, but I doubt a poll of people of 'a decent listening age' in the 90s would produce the same results.

And then there's the fact that 50 horses in my field is an amazing record, but there's no way I would've picked up on that at the time. I wonder what other amazing records I've missed in the 90s? Maybe there's that timeless Mundy album I'm missing...

JAMC and Cocteau Twins are both Scottish, REPRESENT!

my aunt used to see those bands live all the time during the 80s
