Belgium won like the Germans used to do: in the dying seconds of the match
Wow, I already was afraid it would end up in penalties

Me too. Annoying from a FF pov but his dummy for the winner was brilliant. But Hazard's cross to Fellaini for the equalizer ... just fucking beautiful. |

who is Werrahesse? He had Vertonghen on the bench and he scored 7 points. With my four Belgians and Bench boost active I only scored 8 points total

As good as they [eventually) looked going forward I can't see that defence keeping Neymar, Jesus and Coutinho at bay, and Brazil look far more capable of closing out the game than Japan. |

I've got 3 big money Spaniards to off-load, otherwise I'd be taking great pleasure ditching Boyata.
This time tonight I might even have to get shot of Kane ... but I can't think about that possibility. (shudders) |

i ditched him already and it might be the dumbest move ever
he might very well be the golden boot, or whatever that’s called. boot or ball? something. i just had to make my gambles with a certain logic (or lack of it) and his sale paid for them. but yeah he’s a solid goalscorer and can go all the way. |

this first half exemplifies what i grew up believing was “the european game”: simple, physical, effective, totally lacking flair, and a little dull.
clearly things are not like that, or not anymore anyway, with the massive globalization of the game, and having seen europeans of insane ability now, i know this is just ultimately false. but to feed the stereotype, compare to yesterday’s brazil/mexico with both the skill and dribbling (good) and histrionics (bad) on display. only think that lacked fom the old days was more goals. anyway this game sucks for my taste ha ha ha. i hope whoever they play next round crushes them. |

Fair to say that wasn't a classic.
Now, the big one. Nervous as fuck here. Not bothered if it's a borefest. Just care about the result. -- As an aside, Loew staying as Germany manager. Absolute insanity https://www.theguardian.com/football...-world-up-stay |

Yeah, didn't the German board say even befor thier last game that they've always known they're gonna keep him on whatever the result would be that night?
Internet arguments why do I it? Arguing with someone who actually thinks diving has always been a prevalent thing in football, and not something that has gotten worse and worse over the past couple of decades (god, that makes me sound old)

England: Pickford; Walker, Stones, Maguire; Trippier, Alli, Henderson, Lingard, Young; Sterling, Kane.
Need to get Sterling running at them straight away. Have to use our pace to our advantage. Still waiting on Colombia team news. |
