No, but something more inventive. i dont mean similar. All the other albums where different and somehow inventive, this one is a step back. Its true, they didnt do this before, but others did, like queens of the stonage or green day, and i just dont like that kinda music. I expected something more innovative, more experimental, more in the direction of the destroyed room, than just riding the classical rock riffs again. There are good ideas on malibu, poisen arrow, walkin blues, and maybe others, but these songs are on the one hand just not finished to be pop songs, and on the other hand not interesting enough for standalone soundparts - in my ears. And i do understand that massage the history is a good song, but it doesnt get me. So, lets say, its just my personal taste. Some people here dont like ejtans or dirty, which i consider to be nothing less than brilliant, so let me dislke the eternal, please :-) oh, and yes, one long track would be interesting. And its not just because they become more poppy. It hasnt to be neccessarily noisy, though i like noise - but - it should be interesting. This one for ex. is terrible poppy, but interesting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ghP3DD2t6s |

edit:
best music on this planet is from Alfred Schnittke anyway: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gsv-o0JOcWE or: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FmjebNch8bI And i loved sy, because i felt they were trying on electric field what he does on accoustic. but if they want to be normal rockers or popstars - others can do that better. BUT: i think the eternal is a gateway to something new and interesting, i feel like they are trying something out right now, try to control pop/rock melody-structures ore something. But the Gateway itself isnt ineresting for me. |
