i disagree, dragnet, grotesque and slates are all consistently good in my opinion, i would say room to live is more consistant than hex, but that's because i think And This Day is the worst fall song from that era. |

You'd be surprised, as it happens. You rock kids mightn't have, but that doesn't mean that no-one has.

One thing that I am dead sure about is that when hardcore Fall fans form bands they have way too much of an expectation of what a band should be like to really pull it off like their mentor. Prove me wrong on this and I'll buy you an ice cream.

incidentally the one of the two classical fans i know is a big bach fan (don't know about the other), and the only country fan i know is a big hank williams fan. it's fairly rare to meet people of our age who listen to those things though. |

By the way, when does the new Fall album actually come out in the US? Hasn't it been out in UK for like 2 months?

I dont get how anyone can get a great deal from The Fall musically, perhaps thats because im not musically adept, but the reason i like their best stuff is because the meaning is often challenging to discern. As such, its encouraging for people who write stuff because there doesnt seem to be any boundaries and it makes one feel comfortable with only making sense to onesself and not being too arsed with anyone else

For me the voice is part of the music, and what he actually says is a seperate entity, but the two are still intrinsically connected. Fucking hell im thinking too much about this, leave me alone!

you are thinking too much. brilliant music... tons of repetition with subtle changes.. or songs like nwra where the members only play when they feel like it.. some of the best bass lines I've ever heard from any band, ever, not to mention the creative use of two drummers. Musically they're great; the lyrics range from brilliant to nonsense but they sound good over top of the mess.
