You guys, this is really something. I suppose it lacks some of the multiple levels of multiple, engrossing characters that some of the previous seasons had, but boy does it make up for it with some seriously serious shit. Unfortunately, as fucked up as the Underwoods are, watching an alternate America where they run the show is almost quaint a this point. Like a pleasant piece of escapist fiction. They're still utterly terrifying, of course, but I'd legitimately take them over The Orange One. Well, minus the multiple homicides of course. Sadly we live in a world where our president is too stupid to commit first degree murder and get away with it. I'm not even sure if that's a joke or not. But yah. House of Cards is legitimately one of the best. |

I've seen some RIDICULOUS promo art for "The Trilogy." One poster in particular — I believe it was Fromm Sports Illustrated — looked like an ad for a Zack Snyder superhero movie. Just waaaaaayyy overblown. I'm pulling for Golden State. I'm not really a basketball guy, but I think they're the better team. I'm not on board with this "Lebron is better than Jordan" shit. My ass he's better than Jordan. So says a bunch of wankers who don't remember Jordan's golden era, either because they weren't alive or because they were breastfeeding. Lebron better than Jordan My. Fucking. Ass. |

The Secret Agent, Toby Jones. Good work, great acting, Conrad story, very loosley adapted. I thought it was really good.

haaaa haaaa that cat power video was awesome
anyway been watching amazon's ALPHA HOUSE which is a few years old now (obama was still president) but it's funny and has a good cast. been also watching INDIAN SUMMERS which is a british pbs-style soap opera about colonial times in india. it's not great writing but it's a good period reconstruction and i got caught in the story and now i must watch. also been spottily catching up with SHERLOCK season 4 which-- is it me or did it get too fucking baroque and ponderous? each episode is long as fuck and i'm tired of the abuse of flashbacks. doesn't serve many purposes. it's not really doing it for me anymore. so a bit of a chore. so i'm using it to play phone games where there's a wait time. |

I've heard nothing but negative things about Sherlock season 4. Which is really a shame, because seasons 1 and 2 were totally fucking excellent. Season 3 wasn't even a season! It was just "The Abominable Bride" ... an hour and a half-long dream sequence. I have no plans to watch season 4. |

I'm also watching the two best comedies on television right now (Silicon Valley and VEEP) as they become available on HBOGO. Both are excellent.
WAY behind on Doctor Who, which is usually pretty much my most looked-forward-to show of any given week (or, indeed, YEAR). I'm probably going to just binge on them when they're all out because I've missed five or six at this point. That's never happened before. I suck. |

Nope. There wasn't an episode this week. Last one was May 22, next one is Tuesday. Skipped a week. No other shows skipped a week that I know of. |

Haaaaa haaaa haaaaaaaa I fucking love New Mexico. Hey! Do you know anyone who works in comms/media/PR? I can see myself getting paid TV-money. Also, I don't pirate shows, so that pretty much makes me a "company man" right off the bat. |

SOOOOOoooo...
Apparently the next season of American Horrror Story is going to be based on and around the greatest horror of all... the 2016 presidential election. Seriously. I hear it's going to open with actual debate footage, and follow a group of characters who are tangled up and affected by the election somehow. |
