Cos he's still the best player in the world? I dunno, maybe people take him for granted. The guy scored 51 goals last season. Not unusual for him but ridiculous by any other standard and if any other player did that (with the possible exception of Ronaldo) there wouldn't be any question about them getting it. Not that it's all just about goals but I still don't think there's anyone at his all-round level. |

Can't disagree with that. His normal would be everyone's absolute best if anyone could even match it. Personally I would have liked Van Dijk to get it but that's to break up the usual winners (Modric last season aside).
Someone mentioned about how Barcelona game at Anfield wasn't down to him. He set up chance after chance and no one put them away. Was it Demeble in the last ten minutes who squandered a peach of a chance? Only so much a player can do on the pitch.

'When you have important titles maybe you can sit at the table with Cristiano!': Ronaldo's sister launches FURIOUS Instagram rant at Virgil van Dijk after Liverpool defender jokingly questioned whether Juventus star was really a candidate for the Ballon d'Or
Apparently Ronaldo's sister has no sense of humour And Daily Mail should follow a training how to trim down the length of their headlines

i don’t recall what barcelona did last year, nor argentina for that matter. so, totally off my radar Quote:
ah, yeah, see, van dijk would have made much more sense to me because of such an epic campaign. i get messi’s general genius (who doesn’t?) but i have practically zero data from him for 2019. even this anfield game you mention is not registering at the moment, and i most likely saw it, lol. damn... |

Sure you remember that Liverpool game. Barcelona went in after beating Liverpool 3-0. Cue Liverpool actually playing well and cue THAT now famous corner by TAA against a shell shocked, dawdling Barcelona

Silva sacked. Sad to see tbh. At least we'll always have battering Man Utd 4-0

Duncan Ferguson being appointed caretaker manager throws a bit of a curveball as I thought that was what the owners had in mind for Moyes. In that role, maybe till the end of the season, Moyes makes a certain amount of sense but not anything more permanent than that.

I'm not expecting much from.his appointment. Lord knows he's been chucked in the deep end with these fixtures. If Everton can actually show some fight and a bit of brains like they did against Leicester then I'm ok with a loss today.
I can see West Ham doing one over Arsenal. Which would be great.

Arsenal are there for the taking but so are West Ham. It'll likely come down to who ends up being worse on the day.
I'm convinced Everton just need a bit of luck. They didn't deserve to lose against Leicester and while I don't think they'll end up calling this a good season, I'll be surprised if they don't finish around midtable. Make no mistake though, so long as West Ham persist with Pellegrini, they're in real trouble. |

Watched the game. Everton defended really well and capitalised on some stupid mistakes by Chelsea, who dominated possession and on another day would've converted their chances, but this was exactly the kind of performance and result you needed. And needless to say it's always nice watching Chelsea slip up.
And there really needs to be a long look at whether VAR is worth persisting with. None of its decisions were game changers but the stupid delays after each goal is killig the atmosphere |

*gets on knees and praises Big Dunc*
I actually didn't get to watch it! Is said I'd meet up with a friend in Manchester forgetting about the noon kick off. However, reading about it it sounds like the performance that was desperately needed. All guts and determination. Glad to see Dcl get a couple of goals too. Lord knows he's tested my patience but fair play to the lad. Onwards to Man United!
