Italia played with sort of a B squad yesterday, because they already had enough points to go through to the next round anyway. But they still won it.

Today is Netherlands match, they also already have enough points, so might also play with a B squad. But as always I'm more interested in watching the Belgians. Who also may play with a B squad btw.

No idea what this mook ^ said because he's on my ignore list, but I'm leaning towards Brazil and England. Argentina is too young a team for a final and Messi is a walking compendium of "almosts" with the albiceleste. England, meanwhile, has shown a level of badassery I'd never seen from them before - "We're the Premiership. Who the fuck are you? The Serie A? Nobody watches that ugly shite".

apropos of nothing, i was looking at some random news about spurs this morning and saw that they were failing at the hands of... nuno!?!?! what happened to wolfitos? i am so out of the loop haaahaaahaaa. o well. i truly no longer give a fuck about the tv multichannel mincemeat that carries football. go find another sucker, lol.

Just watched the Socceroos play out a pisspoor 0-2 loss to Japan, ending hopes of direct World Cup qualification. We've got a few playoff games to go through as an alternate - one against another Asian team, probably the UAE, and if we win that we'd have a South American team. But I guess we can probably farewell our Qatar hopes.

Outside chance our playoff game comes to be against Chile, which both excites and scares me in equal measure (for personal reasons).

i tried watching champions league yesterday and it was a clusterfuck of obstacles. can't figure out what app/channel to get. i mean, amazon offers paramount something something as add-on, but then it only lets you watch replays (wtf). i'm not getting cable like a primitive. fuck sports tv.

hold on... i found a paramount+ app in my tv (not via amazon) that allows for a free trial. will test it today... curious about the simeone vs pep galácticos duel.

wow i just found out that real madid won the champions league. only because i was cleaning up my twitter feed and the thing was offering me the choice to add the tag.

i blame the sliced and diced tv offerings for my apathy. they want to kill you with a thousand papercuts. fine then, no more paper. sorry kloppo

Put that in your pipe and smoke it, United Arab Emirates. Ajdin Hrustic with a cannon of a right foot, was a mildly lucky deflection but we actually played well enough to win on our own steam this time.

Peru coming up Monday night for most people, Tuesday morning for us here. I can taste it...
