I don't know where the bandcamp thread went! It may have been a casualty of spam deletion.

I reconstructed the bandcamp thread via archive.org - please feel free to post new releases there as well!

Thurston goes deep on Sunburned Hand of the Man in this last episode of the No Way Out podcast. I'll shamelessly mention that my voice is edited into conversation with his at this point, and I make sure to shout out this message board in my comments.

I thought it was you… Kelly contacted me about the podcast, but I struggle to express my feelings well and hate the sound of my voice! I really enjoyed the whole series and learned a lot too. |

Is something shifting in the distance? The official Facebook & Insta pages have both just changed their profile pic to the Walls Have Ears cover..

that site doesn't state which colour it is(?) There's other formats on the bandcamp page: https://sonicyouth.bandcamp.com/album/walls-have-ears

I was thinking of going for the cassette only, but seeing that Jeff Stonehouse's awesome photographs are part of the deluxe edition, gave me the push to go on to spend the mad dollars.

Had to get the deluxe, I don’t even have a turntable right now, but the poster and Jeff’s pics put it over the top
Jenn mentioned before they became more widespread she downloaded those pics from him on Soulseek 20 years ago, it was such an amazing collection of live shots, so happy they are being used in an official release |

^ Damn you peoples who were able to buy a copy as soon as this came out. They better not sell out before I have more money than I do now! Which is $2.70!

Here you have "walls have ears" preorders for european customers (shipping, customs...). I just noticed this today, and the deluxe edition on bandcamp is already sold out. Damn! Which was the price? I will comfort myself watching my numbered 80's copy... I will love you always the most, old chap. |

Well, expensive, but not as hell. Maybe I'd have bought it. I will note it to the future, in case the vinyl hype lowers down and so their prices... Thanks for the info |

Maggot Brain #15 (Dec/Jan/Feb 2024) “This cover feature is a career-spanning piece by Tamara Palmer on Iceland’s most noted export since the foundation of their parliament in 930, with a terrifically gorgeous cover image by our illustrator, Marly Beyer. Cassette tape reviews; Lucy Sante delivers a tribute to the olden days of MP3 blogs, because she writes in every issue and Maggot Brain is lucky AF for this fact; Mimi Lipson weighs in on cats versus dogs in her advice column; Andy Beta talks of Annea Lockwood in the Icons column; the reissue of the issue is a box set of Pauline Anna Strom, by Michelle Dove; Fred Thomas on ‘why Sonic Youth’s most underrated record deserves a second look’ (guess which one it is!); an overview of reissue label Mesh Key for a new column on the people who run labels and stuff like that. In the new column Tracked (on music supervisors) Martin Douglas talks to Tiffany Anders, and it’s largely about her work on RESERVATION DOGS! Then there’s the column Physical Graffiti by editor McGonigal, an epic look at dozens of recent LP releases plus a few books (that’s right, it’s a bona fide multi-page record review column), plus the debut the new food column with a disastrous visit to the Russian Tea Room courtesy of noted genius Quintron.” |
