It's really good. Best Fellini film I've seen. I haven't seen the Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1992) film since I was a tot. It really pales in comparison to the tv series, but still manages to retain the initial concept of what makes the Buffy character so cool in the first place. It was fun seeing Paul Reubens and Stephen Root in the movie, although Reubens wasn't necessarily at the top of his game. Stephen Root was an absolute hoot though! An enjoyable flick, for what it is. |

Yeah, I do like how in the movie, Buffy is given a "spidey-sense" ability, except it's just her getting cramps whenever a vampire is around. THAT'S FUNNY. There's a shit ton of differences, like how in the film there's just one eternally old Watcher rather than an actual Watchers' Council, or the Vampires not poofing into dust, no burned-down gym, etc.; it just felt like an extended rough draft of the Buffy concept... which it essentially is.

^My eyes thought it was Billy Corgan up in The Wanderers.
Watched "the bed you sleep in" last night. It was actually really good. I say actually like I'm surprised, because I didnt think I had the attention span to get through something so amazingly mundane. But I found myself thinking about it after, and consciously tried to slow everything down today, not filling in silences (vocal, or otherwise) just because they were there. Feels good. |

Saw Scott Pilgrim vs. The World again on HBO....a bit less mindblowing (a much smaller screen and stereo-as opposed to surround sound-will do that to some films) than the first time, but no less extremely entertaining.
Still 10/10, hands down I want the DVD so bad

My first Cassavetes and I loved it! Gena Rowlands and Lynn Carlin are extremely beautiful. These "faces" contained in this film, just made me want to pause and draw them. After watching, I can understand some people stances on Cassavetes as a bit off a womanizer and anti-feminists. All in all loved this film. atsonicpark, Fish Story! *CHECK* I need some recommendations for some quality Japanese films on Netflix, my list has dired up after Noriko, Vibrator, and I am a S&M Writer. |
