I get severe migraines a few times a year, and used to get more before I found out what caused them. My advice for withstanding severe headaches:

-If staying still helps, sleep.
-If nothing helps, act like it's not there. It's impossible to ignore, but you might as well go on with your life if it doesn't make a difference, and at least then you won't be just lying in bed completely focused on the pain. Hard rule to follow, but if you can't sleep it's really the best option.

Instead, I went fishing, smoked a lot of pot, drank some beer, and got laid (for the first time in exactly 13 months).

Didnt catch a damn thing though. I am referring to fish. Hopefully the statement remains true to any and all other implications and contexts...
